History

Flower essences have been around in various forms and used by different cultures for centuries. Dr Edward Bach recently made flower essences accessible to larger groups of people. He developed Rescue Remedy™ and other preparations in the 1930's. These products, which are well known to naturopaths and homeopaths for their calming and focusing qualities in humans, have made flower essences more popular in the 21st century.

What we do know is that flower essences have been used by people for generations and many people find it has a gentle calming effect on themselves.

Calm Water Company uses Australian flower essences, which are particularly interesting and unique in their properties given their diversity, beauty, remoteness and the harsh conditions that they typically have to endure. Most flower essence preparations use alcohol as a preservative. However, at Calm Water Company, we add the flower essences to premium spring water using procedures that remove the need for us to use a preservative.
